Badak Jawa (Rhinoceros Sondaicus) merupakan salah satu satwa terlangka di dunia. WWF Indonesia memperkirakan jumlah populasi Badak Jawa di Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon tersisa tak lebih dari 50 ekor. Satwa endemik Indonesia ini masuk dalam daftar satwa paling terancam (critically endangered) menurut Badan Konservasi Dunia IUCN.

Badak Jawa termasuk anggota famili Rhinocerotidae dengan ciri utama hanya memiliki satu cula yang panjangnya kurang dari 20cm. Satwa berkulit mosaik yang menyerupai baju baja ini rata-rata memiliki panjang tubuh 3,1 – 3,2 m dengan tinggi 1,4 – 1,7 m.

Usaha pelestarian Badak Jawa oleh WFF dimulai sejak tahun 1962. Hingga saat ini WFF Indonesia terus menjaga populasi Badak Jawa dengan melakukan manajemen habitat di Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon.

Guna meningkatkan kepedulian terhadap Badak Jawa, Pada 24 Juni mendatang WFF Indonesia bersama komunitas lari Indo Runner mengadakan kegiatan lari lintas alam 10 kilometer bertajuk Run Rhino Run ‘Fun Nature Tracking 10K’. Kegiatan ini akan diikuti oleh 50 pelari utama yang terpilih dari kompetisi online di jejaring sosial.

Kegiatan tersebut diharapkan dapat membangun public awareness (kesadaran publik) terhadap Badak Jawa yang populasinya diambang kepunahan.

Wet race sejak seri pertama moto3 dimulai, Rossi diharapkan dapat kompetitif di Le mans. Benar saja, begitu race motoGP dimulai Rossi langsung masuk ke baris terdepan, tepatnya posisi ke 3 dibelakang Lorenzo dan Stoner. Sementara duo monster Yamaha, Dovi dan Cal Crutchlow membuntuti dibelakang.

Performa Ducati terlihat sangat baik saat kondisi hujan. Rossi berusaha terus menempel Stoner di awal balapan. Alih-alih menyalip juara dunia tersebut, Rossi malah dipecundangi duo monster Yamaha. Ia melorot ke urutan 5.

Harapan tuk dapat podium datang ketika Cruthclow crash lalu disusul teman se-tim nya Dovi. Sekarang tinggal Stoner dan Rossi. Sementara Lorenzo mempin jauh di depan.

Dua kali berusaha overtake Stoner akhirnya Rossi berhasil menyusul di final lap. Hingga race berakhir Rossi finish di posisi kedua di belakang Lorenzo, disusul Stoner, Pedrosa dan Bradl. Sementara teman se-tim Rossi Nicky Hayden finish di posisi 6 di depan duo Monster Yamaha Dovi dan Crutchlow.

Crew Ducati terlihat sangat gembira

Seri yang menarik, akhirnya kita bisa lihat Rossi naik podium lagi yeaay! :-D

Berita mengejutkan datang dari juara dunia motogp Casey Stoner. Pada sesi pres-confrence di Le Mans secara resmi Stoner mengumumkan pensiun. Ia merasa sudah tidak lagi menikmati balapan motogp. Banyaknya perubahan yang terjadi menjadi sebab ia pensiun dini.

Berikut petikan pernyataan Stoner

“After a long time thinking, a lot of time talking with my family and my wife, this has been coming for a couple of years now but at the end of this 2012 season I will be not racing in the 2013 Championship. I will be finishing my career at the end of this season in MotoGP, and go forward in different things in my life.”
“After so many years of doing this sport which I love, and which myself and my family made so many sacrifices for, after so many years of trying to get to where we have gotten to at this point, this sport has changed a lot and it has changed to the point where I am not enjoying it. I don’t have the passion for it and so at this time it’s better if I retire now."
“There are a lot of things that have disappointed me, and also a lot of things I have loved about this sport, but unfortunately the balance has gone in the wrong direction. And so, basically, we won’t be continuing any more. It would be nice if I could say I would stay one more year, but then where does it stop? So we decided to finish everything as we are now.”

Sebelumnya di Estoril, Stoner menepis rumor kalau ia akan pensiun “Until you hear it out of my mouth then don’t believe anything you read,” Tapi sekarang Stoner sudah memutuskan.

Alasan mengapa Stoner pensiun diantaranya hadirnya motor CRT, penerapan regulasi Rev. Limiter di musim 2014 dimana motor akan dibatasi pada RPM 14.000, serta tidak ada kesepakan pada durasi kontrak bersama HRC.

The handling is good but not the speed

Last Thursday I decided to test the bike. I was satisfied with the handling. Those 2.5 x 17 (f) & 3.5 x 17 (r) rims are comfortable. The bike became more stable and braking process also going smoothly. Then when turned I can easily control the bike.

Unfortunately I disappointed in machine sector. Adapted a 40 rear sprocket I could reach only 80 km/h. I tested the bike in straight road BSD. I wonder there is a problem in my speedometer since rims changes. It runs so slow.

Next Friday I want to see my fellow to discuss this problem. He applied same rims as I applied.
