http://nationalgeographic.co.id/berita/2013/08/indonesia-lebih-baik-dengan-bersepeda

Ingin rasanya berkomentar, berhubung harus signup dulu yaa komentarnya disini aja deh hehe *gak  tau kenapa, saya merasa belum pantas join hehe.

Ditengah panasnya topik tawuran antar pelajar, Pak Mendikbud, M. Nuh menyempatkan diri menemui tersangka pelaku tawuran.

Gilera DNA, Smart move!

Gilera, taken from Blognya Arantan

Gilera DNA, taken from Blognya Arantan

"Motor apaan nih?

Seketika kemacetan mulang terurai, motor berserta si rider ngacir dan tak sempat terkejar lagi haha

from alfido motorbike news

Sayang, Gilera DNA udah dicontinue..alias gak diproduksi lagi.. hmm kira-kira kalo motor kaya gini di produksi si Indonesia laku gak yaa?

gue pribadi sih tertarik.. model oke, riding pasti nyaman :D

[img]http://www.stevecurtin.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Words.jpg

Nah udah ngerti? back to topic..

agar from agar-agar; a gelatinous substance obtained from various kinds of red seaweed and used in biological culture media and as a thickener in foods.
bamboo from bambu; a tall tropical grass with hard hollow stems, or the stems of this plant.
paddy from padi; as in 'paddy-field' or 'rice paddy', referring to the rice plant Oryza sativa.
sarong from sarung; a long piece of thin cloth which is worn wrapped around
satay from sate; a Southeast Asian food consisting of small pieces of meat or fish cooked on a stick, and served with a spicy peanut
rattan from rotan; a tropical climbing plant with thin, tough stems

The importance of first language

[img]http://harululu.wordpress.com/2011/03/13/bahasa-indonesia-mau-diapakan-identitas-kita/

Di suatu pagi, saya lupa persisnya tanggal berapa... kami siap untuk melaksanakan ujian TEFL (Teaching English for Foreign Language). "Silahkan jawab hanya dengan Bahasa Indonesia" kira-kira begitu ujar dosen kami. Wahh? otomatis kami kaget, kenapa? padahal kan ini salah satu cara buat kita untuk membiasakan diri menulis, menuangkan opini dengan bahasa Inggris..

"Why not? I love Bahasa." ujar dosen kami bangga. "Saya ingin tahu sejauh mana kemampuan bahasa pertama kalian.., jangan sampai kemampuan bahasa pertama kalian lebih buruk.. kalo bahasa Inggris itu kan hanya bahasa asing." jawab dosen kami. Sejenak kami berpikir..

Surabaya zoo entrance -tripadvisor.co.id
The bad condition of Surabaya Zoo has reached its peak. After the death of the last remaining giraffe with 18 kg wad of plastic in its stomach, now turn to the Javanese bull which dead after has wound on its leg. That bull was rammed by others when they’re looking for female bull. This incident occurred by the cage that are too full. This zoo is a nightmare.

Previously 2 years ago, came up a report told 25 from 4000 animals there dead every month, most of them are suddenly dead. They’re African lion, Sumatran tiger, and some of crocodile. And this cruel condition continues till now.

The worst internal management plays an important role here. This is the root of the problems which caused to unfocused handling of the animals. From the uncontrolled breed, lack of funds for the animals, until a probability for an illegal animal market which involved the staff. Surabaya zoo doesn’t have enough places to keep the massive number of animals.

If we look at the situation, this zoo is no longer feasible due to cruel and scandalous conditions. There are only two choices for Surabaya zoo. A shut down or a privatization as Tony Sumampouw, an experienced zoo manager said, this zoo is needed a total renovation. “We need to think about a private management or moving some of animals.” said him.

If there is no one who eager to take the zoo, a shut down can be a good choice. The animals could be spread to others zoo rather than forced to defend this zoo (not seriously) and harmed the animals. However if there is a company who want to take care the zoo would be great. A big whole change must be added to save this zoo.

Unfortunately until this post posted I haven’t yet hear about the response of the government as the authorities to take action then solve this problem.

Lalu lintas Indonsia (src: asmarantaka.wordpress)

In my opinion safety riding contains two elements. There are physics and mental side. We can easily applied the physics side by using safety gear to protect ourselves but different on mental side. On mental side, I more likely to said attitude related to our emotion. It's bit hard to control. There always something that came up in the road makes our emotions unstable. For example sometimes we ignited to follow other motorist while they go fast passing on us. It seems like a challenge but absolutely not. We can harm others by our bad attitude. There also other factors like lack of concentration caused by thinking something while riding. Over confidence is one of the trigger. Include false calculation either in taking over or in a braking. Really maturity and respects to other fellow in the road totally needed.

src: republika
We have to realize that life is priceless. We need to control our emotion while riding. It's not easy but possible. First just make yourself comfortable when begin to ride. Pray, then talk to yourself to stay patient whatever happen to you. Stop thinking other things then concentrate. It will need a process so don’t give up because actually good attitude is just a habit.

Believe that safe and comfort traffic is not a dream. That's possibility. Let's begin from ourselves then start to infect others to follow this proper attitude/safe attitude for a better traffic. Big things come from small beginning. Go! :D

The bad condition of public transportation has made bike as the first choice of Indonesian to support their daily activities. Bike is easy and simple to ride. It can easily go through road congestion. Unfortunately some motorist forget to check their bike whereas a continually use will affect to the performance. A routine check is needed to make sure the bike is in a good condition and safe to ride.

Here they are we have to consider before start riding. Daily bike checkpoint:

check in these points before riding

Check out the basic equipment for a road bike such as rearview mirrors, headlamp as well as taillamp, and also the turn signals. Those parts are essentially required to help you while you’re not alone in the road. There are also companion such as cars, buses, or trucks. Then look into brake part, make sure the function is good. Brake is one of the important parts in the bike. This part will help you handle the bike and control your speed. Still in a handling area, we continue to the tires, check the pressure make sure it’s good, no more or less. If it’s less you’ll difficult to control as the bike will be heavier and be tricky to handle cause doesn’t have the right position for the tire and if it’s over your tire will be very hard and affect to your comfort. Don’t forget to check also the chain tension. It’s related to the acceleration and deceleration. Good tension will give smooth acceleration. And the last is the most crucial part, check your fuel. Go to a fuel pump if it’s indicated in a lower stage. You don’t want to run out of gas in the middle of your journey don’t you?

Are you finished in check out your bike? Don’t forget to give yourself best protection by using safety gear. Last words enjoy your ride and happy riding! :D

Naked bike will be a trend in 2012?

After KTM duke 200 and Pulsar 200 NS, others naked bike just wait to launch on 2012. One of them is a naked bike 150cc from Honda which rumored with a trellis frame. The rumor of this bike is already come up since the end of 2011. Some enthusiast thought this bike is produced to head with Yamaha V-ixion which has a great popularity last year. Seems like having preparation to face 2012 rivalries Minerva which characterized by build a faired sportbike has also rumored to launch a brand new naked bike for 250cc or 150cc. This rumor supported by a spy shoot on tmcblog

Honda VTR 250 supposed to be a model for new Honda 150cc sportbike

Look back at 2011 naked bike in Indonesia seems have a better place rather than faired bike. Looked on the practical side naked bike has a benefit to ride in a crowded traffic like Indonesia as well as the maintenance which is more easier. Just see on the market of New Mega Pro and Byson those bike have a place on two-wheels lovers. If Byson didn't have problem with the production I think that bike will give a nice strike to the competitor New Mega Pro. Moreover before those bike there are a lot of naked bike which has a great popularity both in performance and design. Those are Honda Tiger series, Yamaha Scorpio, V-ixion and Suzuki Thunder. We also still waiting for the release of brand new 250cc bike from Suzuki, GW250.

Suzuki GW250

As we can see in 2012, will be a lot of naked bike comes up. It seems like a trends or what? or maybe others manufacturers will follow to release another naked bike? let's see

'Cornering' between supported skill and trend

Cornering: the way you turn.

The term 'cornering' is new for me. I knew this word by the one of community members. Cornering refer to the skill of turning. This skill usually characterized by the lower position -'knee down'- as racer do when turns. Some people think this skill are not proper do in the road, you just can't do that turn as you were in the race track. But some enthusiast thought cornering is all covered as the right skill in turning not are just turn like a racer. In other words this skill are required especially in the worst condition of a traffic in Indonesia. For the turning skill like knee down you can't do as you want, be careful with your companion in the road. As a biker I believe you will know when is the time, just follow the instinct. More you in a road more you learn (get), experience.
